Oil palm greed and continued atrocities against orang utans
Shenaaz Khan
To the wicked, everything serves as pretext. A few weeks ago, Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister Bernard Dompok was reported to have said that the government may consider organising a “balik kampung” exercise for displaced orang utans. His curious comments clearly came as a feverish remedy to counter claims that the orang utan habitat in Malaysia is being destroyed by palm oil producers.
In June, the Australian senate passed the Food Standards Amendment (Truth in Labelling - Palm Oil) Bill 2010, a bill that would compel all producers, manufacturers and distributors’ of food containing palm oil to have it listed on the content label of their products.
That conscientious move was followed by furious months of Malaysian ministry minions dashing off to Australia to recondition the minds of Australian lawmakers with regards to policies on palm oil labelling. And they appear to have succeeded for the government of Gillard has since proclaimed its support for its counterparts in inhumane crime.
While the proposed Bill is being tabled at the parliamentary level, Dompok, Gillard and their gang of governing goblins are making debauched attempts to mask the ugly truth of legalised palm oil propagation.
In Australia, Dr. Craig Emerson, the Trade Minister, had declared the Bill as “anti-trade in nature”. It is in fact anti-nature in trade! The Bill was therefore expectedly and woefully rejected by Australia's House of Representatives Economics Committee, the second committee to do so since it was tabled in Parliament.
In Malaysia, resounding ridiculous rants were made courtesy of Yusof Basiron, Chief Executive Officer of the Malaysian Palm Oil Council, who viciously and fallaciously accused the Melboune Zoo of animal cruelty. Basiron shrieked bloody murder and claimed Melbourne Zoo was abusing and neglecting the orang utans in their custody. His slanderous tongue went on to condemn the zoo for not having adequate and appropriate enclosures for the orang utans. He painted an agonising picture of abused orang utans being subjected to cruelty the likes of mercury poisoning!
I of course read the statement in lockjaw silence and was perplexed in the extreme by the groundless charges against Melbourne Zoo. Having myself visited Melbourne Zoo at around the same time as alleged by Basiron, I found his “findings” confounding. The extent of the ferocious fabrication by the palm oil chief made his scheming intentions obvious for it was undoubtedly provoked by Melborne Zoos campaign against palm oil.
Melbourne Zoo has earnestly embarked on a campaign to educate the general public on the revolting role palm oil producers’ play in the destruction of orang utan habitats.
Palm Oil producers have all but pillaged most of our resplendent rainforest and swampy peat lands in the name of profit and in doing so has made Palestinians of our orang utans. Displaced and stripped of their homes, orang utans are hunted, poached or killed courtesy of greedy palm oil producers.
Basiron, in venting his barely repressed resentment towards Melbourne Zoo, has in turn made a spectacle of himself by ostentatiously calling upon Australians to come hither and visit our world famous zoos. Basiron, the bogus bastion of animal welfare, proceeded to extol sickening praise upon the very entities that have a nasty reputation of torturing animals in captivity.
Using a compound of immorality, foolishness and malice, Basiron exhorted Melbourne Zoo to come and learn proper animal care from Malaysian zoos. What an idiotic plot to conceal the authenticated facts and reality of palm oil propagation.
Such gross lack of judgement is not becoming of the chief of a 60 billion ringgit industry. But one should suppose that protecting a RM60 billion ringgit enterprise would necessitate the character assassination of Melbourne zoo, whose treatment of animals stands in stark contrast to our horrific zoos.
The recent seizures of more than 200 animals from three Malaysian zoos are in itself reflective of the repulsiveness of Malaysian zoos. Their roughshod treatment of orang utans and other animals have become disgracefully legendary!
Though activist and conservationist continue to make valiant attempts to rehabilitate and reintroduce baby orang utans, known as “oil palm orphans” back into the wild, their accomplishments are very quickly fouled by further felling.
And though conscientious Australian legislators are still lobbying for the labelling of palm oil products, illegal loggers, palm oil developers and cruel governments remain the chief brokers in the future of orang utans. And while they gang rape our natural habitat they shall inevitably share in the general collapse of our humanity!

Tan Sri Ting Chew Peh revealed today that he signed off on the 1,000-acre Pulau Indah land buy as Port Klang Authority (PKA) chairman without official confirmation from Cabinet despite knowing government procedure.
Former PKA chairman inked land deal without Cabinet go-ahead
By Yow Hong Chieh October 03, 2011
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 3 — Tan Sri Ting Chew Peh revealed today that he signed off on the 1,000-acre Pulau Indah land buy as Port Klang Authority (PKA) chairman without official confirmation from Cabinet despite knowing government procedure.
The former housing and local government minister told Tun Dr Ling Liong Sik’s graft trial it was “the usual practice” to carry out Cabinet decisions only after Cabinet meeting minutes have been verified, but admitted he approved the purchase before that.
“The S&P (sales and purchase agreement) was signed before official confirmation from the Cabinet?” deputy public prosecutor Manoj Kurup asked.
“When I signed the S&P I wasn’t aware of this letter (from Cabinet)... There was nothing in black and white,” Ting (picture) replied.
Ting also said he did not read through the S&P agreement with landowner Kuala Dimensi Sdn Bhd (KBSB) and had relied on general manager Datin Paduka OC Phang and PKA’s legal adviser to fill him in on its contents.
Retired Transport Ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri Zakaria Bahari testified last month that Dr Ling had given Phang his approval to sign the agreement on November 6, 2002 after a Cabinet meeting that same day despite not getting the Cabinet’s formal decision until some two weeks later.
Phang, together with Ting, had inked the deal with KDSB on November 12, 2002.
Dr Ling, a former MCA president, was charged in July last year with knowingly deceiving the Cabinet into approving the land purchase for the Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ), which resulted in wrongful losses for the government.
The prosecution has argued that the additional interest of 7.5 per cent per annum, amounting to some RM720 million, had pushed PKA’s land purchase from RM1.088 billion to RM1.88 billion for the port project.
This was despite knowing that the government’s Valuation and Property Services Department (JPPH) had already taken the interest into account when it valued the land at RM25 per square foot.
Former Transport Minister Dr Ling also faces two alternative charges of deceiving the Cabinet into believing that the purchase at RM25 psf and the 7.5 per cent interest rate were acknowledged and agreed to by JPPH despite knowing that there was no such agreement.
The veteran politician faces up to seven years’ jail and a fine if convicted of the principal charge under section 418 of the Penal Code.

high inflation
A Malaysian wrote to his wife live in kampong/village ...
Dear Darling,
I can't send you my salary this month because inflation is very high now and market is no good and has affected my Company's performance, so I am sending 100 kisses. You are my sweetheart, please adjust.
Your loving husband
His wife replied...
Dear Husband ,
Thanks for the 100 kisses. Below is the list of expenses I paid with the Kisses...:
1. The Milk man agreed on 2 kisses for one month's milk.
2. The electricity man agreed not to disconnect only after 7 kisses.
3. Your landlord comes every day to take 2 or 3 kisses instead of the monthly rent.
4. Supermarket owner did not accept kisses only, so I gave him other items, I hope you understand..
5. Miscellaneous expenses 40 kisses.
Please don't worry about me, I still have a balance of 35 kisses and I hope I can survive the month using this balance...
Shall I plan the same for the next month?

LETTER Now I know why all the Malaysian talents are no returning home to work. Even with the government’s Talent Corp, with the objective to reach out to those talents it will be a failure if there is no meritocracy in government decision making process. Forget about getting them home, you are just buying the person but not their heart and you cant keep them foe long… Learn your lesson from NBIS China and Stem Cell Research Singapore !!!
China is an inventing nation. China is the nation that invented printing, fork, drum, silk, gunpowder, paper, umbrellas ,rice cultivation, wheels and a whole lot of other things. China’s history is littered with war and famine, so you can expect the Chinese to be tough and been there and done that sort of thing. After thousands of years under the rule of dynasties and finally Communist China, chaos upon chaos and finally under Chairman Mao, China began its nation building.
Nation building is also refers to constructing the national identity using the power of the state. It involves the unification of its people so that the state is politically stable and sustainable in the future for development. China addresses this problem very well and it has built a patriotic , hard working and educated workforce. The key to developing a nation’s wealth is developing your human resources and at the same time educate them and built up your middle class while at the same time developing your science and technology base. So it is not surprising to see China takes the lead in this century. Whereas in Bolehland we are still searching for our very own identity through the launching of the 1Malaysia concept which nobody understands. On one side the government is promoting 1Malaysia and on the other side it reassures the Malays that its right will be preserved no matter what. China is also a living prove of what can be achieved when a Communist nation embraces capitalism. As a nation they have syncronised the chaos into a force to be reckoned with. Even the West has accepted the fact that the Chinese are smarter, more hardworking, obliging and its immense pride to collectively build a nation. Unlike our politicians who have lied and lied about our country with all the manipulated data and facts, instead of informing us about all these seismic changes around the world.
A few years ago there was a survey done by The Economist concerning car ownership in China, India, France and USA. As predicted USA has more than 1000 cars, France 762, China 11 and India 7 for every 1000 people. Just only last year China has became the biggest car market in the world!! According to China Daily in the first 10 months car sales were up 34% from last year…. BMW has already fulfilled its target of 112,000 cars for this year in September, Mercedes sold over 101,000 units and Rolls Royce sold more of its cars in China than the US and last month Jaguar/Landrover has just open a new dealership in China. Today’s Communist China isn’t the same as 1980s Communist Russia where you will have trouble getting your hands on a fur coat ! The demand for luxury goods in China is growing at an exponential pace. Luxury items makers such as LV, Prada, Gucci, Coach and etc reported more than 100% annual growth for the past few years. It has come to the point where Western products has to customize to suit the Chinese needs and taste like longer leg rooms at the back seat for Rolls Royce coz most of them are chaufered driven so the bosses need extra leg room !! Ha ha!
Another thing to be noted is the amount of research articles published by Chinese scientist. It is reported that China has jumped to number 2 – up from 14th in 1995, in the number of articles publish in the science and technology journals worldwide such as IEEE, Nanotech, Applied Physics and etc. It is an open secret that the majority of the PHD students in the hard sciences enrolled in elite US universities (Ivy League) are Chinese. It is these PHD graduates that will do most of the research. It should be noted that a lot of the Microsoft patents came from its Beijing Labs. By far China’s most successful research institution is the National Institute for Biological Sciences or NBIS which is responsible for half of China’s Scientific publication.. The Institute’s 23 main investigators, director and deputy director are all RETURNEES from the United States. Quote one of its principal investigators : “ If I stayed in America the chances of making a discovery is slimmer, here people take risk, they give you money and you can essentially do whatever you want ” For your information you can check on China’s worldwide patent application fillings on www.economywatch,com . Patents are actually a measure of technological prowness and innovation. Nations that file the largest number of patens are the home to innovatve corporations and Nobel Prize winners. It wont be long you will see Chinese Nobel prize winners. No wonder there are so many first coming out of China nowadays. The fastest Supercompter title belongs to the Chinese (Tianhe-1A) running at the speed of 2.5 petaflops which is equivalent to power of 175,000 high end laptops. The fastest bullet train belongs to the Chinese (CRH360) with a top speed of 262 miles leaving the japs and germans far behind. And these are indigenious technologies locally grown. What happen to our car industry? With all the money throwing into the national car industry after 20 over years we ended up being a ‘BETTER CAR ASSEMBLER’ than our neighbours. It is a case of throwing ‘GOOD MONEY AFTER BAD MONEY’. And with all our governments ridiculous project or so call wealth showing projects like building sky scrapers, NORTH-SOUTH-EAST-WEST corridors ended up in no DOORs how to improve? How can we catch up with others? I just came back from Vietnam last month and let me tell you guys the amount of FDI going into the country is incredible. These are not ‘hot money’ but real economy kind of investment – build factories, infrastructure and things that can create jobs.
The amount of development that is going on there is mind boggling. In HCMC there are no less than 30 high rise cranes working on new buildings and will have its 68 floor bitexco tower opened this month. And Hanoi is building a 104 storey tower reputed to be the second tallest after Burj Khalifa in Dubai.
Another thing is that China hold the whole world at ransom in July this year by banning all its Rare Earth Materials. Rare earth materials are a collection of 17 minerals found at the bottom of the periodic table. China controls 95% of the world supply. These rare earth includes cerium, scandium, yttrium, lanthanum and etc are used in our daily lives such as handphones, laptops, camera lenses, flat screen tv, x-ray machines , guided missiles systems, oil refineries and etc. By banning the exports of these materials China indirectly impede the growth and development of many things. Fortunately there are 2 other companies in the world that will have the capability to produce some to offset the Chinese ban. One is the Lynas Corp from Western Australia which have a mine in KUANTAN MALAYSIA and it will start production by end of next year, while the other is Molycorp from California. How their combine output added up to around 40-50,000 tons which is still way below the global demand of 250,000 tons. Unsurprisingly the shares of both of these companies jump multiple folds since the July ban. Lynas was trading at somewhere 38cents in July and the high of the year was $1.69 (ASX) and shares of Molycorp are more than double now.
It is also a wrong misconception that China’s success is due to its Cheap Labour, yes that was probably 15 years ago. However the next megatrend will be the growth of the Chinese Research & Development. The Chinese will be able to apply the same cost advantage in its manufacturing towards Research & Development in no time. If you notice currently the global telecoms equipment sector is now dominated by 2 chinese companies (about 65% of new installations) notably Huawei . Western countries are buying these Chinese equipment not because its cheap but also it is good !! In a recent electric car trade show in Shenzhen there is this Chinese R&D company that reinvented the battery. Their battery last twice longer, much more power , half the existing battery weight and 100% recycleable. This is going to change the face of the global automobile market. With its low cost R&D, product development and manufacturing, which country can match China? It will continue to dominate the world for decades to come !!! In the End it is the Communist China that won the battle of capitalism.!!
So when will China overtake US as the number one economy in the world? As predicted China will overtake Uncle Sam ‘s economy in two years in terms of PPP (Purchasing Power Parity) It wont be long as China’s opponent is embrace with an insolvent banking system, high unemployment rate , homeless population, high foreclosure rate and with 40 million people on food stamps and its Federal Reserve printing money out of thin air. Over here in China, its economy is growing at a 10% pace annually. Haha !!
And if you think its easy for you to access the Chinese Market. If your company owns certain patents they will demand access to it and furthermore train their people on how to use your technology so that they can reverse engineer it the moment you open shop. Just ask car manufacturer Peugeot on the difficulty and pain in working with the Chinese.
China is also quietly building up its military and I believe it is currently making use of the financial crisis to extend its geopolitical and economic sphere of influence in Asia and beyond.. China is already refurbishing an ex Russian aircraft carrier (Varyag) due to completed in 2012 and building 2 other 50,000 to 60,000 ton carriers due to complete in 2015. When completed China will have what they called a ‘BLUE WATER NAVY’ . This means Chinese navy are capable of operating across deep waters of the oceans and also able to launch a nuclear attack from anywhere in the world. Moreover recent developments in the Chinese missiles technology caught most western powers off guard. For example a few years back China conducted a successful anti satellite missile test. It use a modified DF-21 (Dong Feng) ballistic missile mounted with the kinetic kill vehicle to intercept the satellite.
Another recent development is the Chinese ASBM or anti ship ballistic missile the DF-21A which is designed to launch from land and can penetrate the most advance defence from any MOVING aircraft carriers. The carrier battle group used to be the ‘untouchables’ will no longer hold and it will make the US aircraft carrier battle fleets a sitting duck. When these multiple warhead ballistic missiles homing into these battle groups, there is nothing they can do to stop it. Even if it explode in mid air, imagine a nuclear warhead explode in the vicinity of the fleet, it will just vaporized the entire fleet.
So in the end what can we learn from China? Nation building and how can we harness the power of the people as one so that we can build a solid and sustainable economic development. So how to start nation building when our country’s political and its social is in a mess and biased? It will take many years before we can even talk about sustainable development without first implement a much fairer and equitable racial policies. Who wants to work full-heartedly when you know that the govt policies are biased to a certain group in terms of promotions and opportunities. We have to get our act together and implement meritocracy policies in all govt policies be it education, public procurement, jobs and etc. As for a better education system look no further than New Zealand. Their system is based on meritocracy and survival of the fittest.. Over there schools survived mostly on govt grants. How much grants the school gets depends on its academic performance. The better the school the higher the enrolment and hence more grants. No bloody Maoris, Aborigine, White only kind of bullshit as practice over here. If you are no good then enroll in a not so Ivy League school that require lower application points. The schools that are not doing too well had to manage with what they get from the grants and if enrolment keep droping then they have to lay off teachers. This is what I called ‘survival of the fittest’ as the NZ govt put it clearly that they will not bail out schools that are not performing and they will have to sort out their own mess !!! In Malaysia everybody seems to be spoon fed.. As for myself I have difficulty getting locals to work. Reasons are too long hours, too little money, too boring lah, not my type of work and etc.. With this type of attitude how can we progress? Don’t bloody talk to me about implementing minimum wages with this type of efficiency ..
I am amused at those politicians chanting bullish things about how well their economy is doing and stuff like that. They know nuts about what’s going on in the world economy. I believe now we are in the eye of a mega storm waiting to explode. If you are a student of economics you should heard about the Kondratieff 60 years cycle. It was invented by the Russian economist named Nikolai Kondratieff. It track the long waves of the boom and bust cycle of the world economy. By its calculation we are now already at the truning point of the bust cycle starting from 2008. A normal cycle can last up to 12 years so we still have another 10 years to endure before we see the better of things returning. The crisis we are facing now make the crisis of 2008 like a walk in the park. Bernanke thinks that he can get away by pump priming the economy with more money printing out of thin air through QE2. He belongs to the Keynesian school of economics whereby they believe in expansionary monetary policies to spend your way out of a recession. Bull Shit ! He ain’t going to solve any problems with QE2. QE2 will cause inflation, hot money and currency wars among nations. What is needed is more of a contractionary monetary policy whereby it need to spend less and save more to pay its awful $13 trillion debts. Instead he should pursue the more conservative policies from the Austrian School of Economics. Does this sounds familiar with what our government is doing right now? You cannot put out a fire by pouring more fuel into it !! FULL STOP !! You guys having seen anything yet until the crisis unleash its anger. What I am doing now is getting myself as low a gearing as possible, pay off as much debts as possible…

Now I know why all the Malaysian talents are no returning home to work. Even with the government’s Talent Corp, with the objective to reach out to those talents it will be a failure if there is no meritocracy in government decision making process. Forget about getting them home, you are just buying the person but not their heart and you can't keep them foe long… Learn your lesson from NBIS China and Stem Cell Research Singapore !!!
马华的资产是多少---5亿,9亿, 超过 20 亿,加上拉曼学院与 大学资产,各州各区会资产,应高达100 亿令吉? MCA HAS ASSET MORE THAN RM 500--900 MILLION???

TMI:
MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek today confirmed the party had appointed his son, Chua Tee Yong and former vice-president Datuk Seri Dr Fong Chan Onn to assist in managing the party’s assets, estimated to be worth over RM2 billion.
Dr Chua said the decision had been endorsed by the party’s central committee after holding a five-hour meeting at Wisma MCA here.
“The CC today decided that the asset management of MCA should be administered in a more professional manner.
“That is why we believe that the party’s assets should be managed by a professional group separate from the MCA so there is separation of power.”
O.O
You’ve *got* to be kidding me.
Only BN could possibly say “I’ve nominated my son to take care of 2 billion dollars” and “separation of power” in the same sentence.
RM 2 billion of ill gotten gains – and to take care of it all, he nominates… his son.
Nope. Nothing nepotistic there at all. Definitely very professional. Certainly wouldn’t raise any eyebrows in any other country or anything.
Maybe Ong Tee Keat wasn’t the greatest leader in the world, but at least he spent his time trying to expose corruption and fix what’s really wrong with this country.
Soi Lek? Busy making sure his finger is in every pot (heh), and making a big show of begging Umno for money.
Integrity seems to follow dignity out the window :P

When a ship is sinking you jump, but when mca sinking everyone want to be captain, why?. No, mca is not a ship, it is a castle with 2 billion lock inside. ‘I am not holding the key to the 2 billion room, we have made it independent!, by giving the key to my son’, says the King of the castle. Even worse, mca as part of government, CSL send the memorandum to his 4 ministers begging to be treated fairer and beg for money. What type of story is this? this is how CSL’s logic work. He is definitely good at MCA politic but his story line and logic sucks.
One more thing, is he saying mca are bunch of suckers and can-not be trusted to look after 2 billions, for that, I agree!. But then, what justify him believe that outsource the scope to the professional under his son would be better? I don’t know his logic, but it explains my doubt, he, as king of mca could settle without being full minister. MCA, the second Umno indeed…. I know b’coz i am agelina yam.

What profession and calibre? Based on what qualification? Can compare with Singapore govt or not? Just like Najib’s brother in CIMB. All these is just to ensure their cronies have a mouth on the pie. MCA, no matter what they said will still be MCA => Mau Cari Angpow saja.
That’s all. And also people in TAR college and TheStar will be pressed and flogged to work cow and horse to feed MCA big bosses and their sons and daugthers. Can you imagine a person working in TAR colleage for 10 years cannot even reach RM3k per month? Only RM100 increment per year no matter how good you do. If you have done an excellent job, they don’t reward you and pretend not to know and tell you should not get grade 5 (highest) but grade 3/4. No matter how much you done and contribute, they don’t recognize or reward anything you do. But if you do a simple error or mistake, they will make a mountain out of a mole hill and threathen you with KPI KPI KPI and cut your bonus here and there. TAR College always so obsessed want to find fault with their lecturers. What the heck? How about KPI for TAR college and MCA bossess? Lecturers should be able to evaluate their program managers and principals too. Why TAR college does not do this? TAR college mindset and leadership is so backwards!

Menara MCA building worth hundred million

Over RM2 billion asset
Anyway do the UTAR and TARC college building and land considered MCA asset ?? If yes, then the figure might be more than that.
The RM2 billion solely an asset so nothing can touch by his son (other than the dividen from the Star and rental from the Wisma MCA ..but it’s accountable) no big deal.

Hi readers, nice and free looking set of comments here, so prepare for some comprehensive analyses on various events plaguing Malaysia when the right article on any subject pops up. My beliefs are :
1) Freedom from Apartheid/Fascism
2) Freedom from Religious-Persecution/Religious-Supremacy.
3) Equality for all ethnicities and faiths in all aspects of policy, Law and Constitution.
With a 13 point on the FB group as a secondary extension from the 3 items. Now on to the comment for this article :
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I have faith in Chua Tee Yong, says Najib (Page 2 The Star 3rd June 2010)
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Kuala Lumpur :
(1) Chua Tee Yong was appointed based on his ability and qualification – not because he is the son of MCA party president Dr. Chua Soi Lek,” said Najib.
Sorry to see that PM Najib does not know the difference between a generalized Business Administration and specialised Agriculture Degree. There are those who took Agriculture knowing the limitations it had in the workforce, these sacrifices have gone largely ignored by PM Najib in cementing his crony and sycophant base, instead of being fair. Chua Tee Yong is not qualified for this post at all.
(2) “It doesn’t matter whether his father is a (party) president as long as you can perform as a member of this adminisration. It is not an issue as I went through the list,” said Najib.
Says one thing, does the opposite, says 1 thing means another. 1Malaysia . . .
(3) Najib said age was not a factor when he decided to appoint Tee Yong. “What is important is the ability, he is well qualified. I have confidence in his ability to perform as a deputy minister.” The 30 year old Tee Yong was appointed as Deputy Agriculture and AGro-based Industries Minister in a minor Cabinet reshuffle on Tuesday.
Sorry to see that PM Najib does not respect that the ultimate promotion a decades long bureaucrat could get is that of Minister. There are those who had spent 5 times the viable political lifespan of ‘experience’ Dr. Chua’s son had working in any Agricultural Bureau, these sacrifices are immediately ignored by PM Najib by Chua Tee Yong’s appointment, merely to cement a BN crony and sycophant base, instead of being fair. This leaves the most experienced personnel in the Agriculture Ministry nothing to strive for except their pensions and is an insult many deserving people who had put in decades of good work to never be rewarded because a political party places itself and it’s cronies over what should be rightfully inherited by those with REAL experience.
(4) Separately, Dr. Chua said he had recommended Gelang Patah MP Tan Ah Eng and his son Chua Tee Yong for a deputy minister’s post.
Dr.Chua could have recommended only MP Tan Ah Eng (Wanita MCA Deputy-Chairman) as she is the only one of 15 MCA MPs who has had no post so far, specifically to show his sense of ethics – well the MCA President couldn’t help himself. And just after appointment of his son as in charge of the 2 billion in assets MCA has. Even with their numbers thinning, MCA’s politics of nepotism holds no bounds.
(5) Chua Tee Yong is an accountant with a Masters in Business Administration. He was also the chief financial officer of a government-linked company, prior to winning the Labis seat in the 2008 general election.
This is not much different than MIC’s Maika Holdings . . . conflict of interest (GLC CFO’s post) and nepotism are the surest way to the end of good governance. These are not qualifications, these are indictments of nepotism and conflict of interest, a burden on the people. The nepotists of BN have made clear what they are worth to the Chinese community and with the warnings so clear when so many children of politicians hold MP seats alongside their fathers and are worth billions at an early age, the Rakyat should know who to vote for come GE13.
(Excerpts from Page 6, The Star 3rd June 2010 – Tee Yong is his own man)
(1) “I don’t care how people want to interpret my decision.”
But the people care. So they will take care to never vote for MCA again.
(2) Even Opposition MPs were impressed as to how Chua Tee Yong got some of the vital information which he highlights during debates.
Money buys alot of things, including teams of researchers and compilers and speech writers. Don’t be impressed.
(3) I went up for election not because I wanted to be a minister. Those who supported me know.” Dr. Chua said.
We can respect a father’s well wishes for his son, but NOT at the citizen’s expense and not when it causes conflict of interest in the public sphere like this. Nepotism is wrong, even in the private sphere it is looked down upon. Compounded by the fact of selling out the entire Chinese community to apartheid policy, MCA it’s leader and son, or sons of former leaders, former leaders who all sold out the Chinese community over the decades, will never be given any support by any right minded Chinese person or given respect by any non-Chinese party in either coalition either. MCA has compromised on the very purpose of it’s existence and insulted the principled among us, it is no longer relevant to a better Malaysia or worth dealing with by any first world government anymore.
FINAL ANALYSIS
The leader turns into a vulture, with the last stupid sheep MP’s being sent to the slaughter – one last chance for a revolt for a breakaway MCA Xin, but somehow even these moderately wealthy MPs left in MCA already lack the initiative, they were trained to be like this the day they joined maybe?
Ill gotten gains obtained by former leaders will never be allowed by the people. Even if you run overseas like a Thaksin, the loyal among us will find a way to exact justice on the thieves of the futures of all minorities in Malaysia. Reprisals for not speaking up for 50 years of apartheid will far outweigh the stolen monies and ill gotten contracts.
The MCA name has ended this day in utter ignominy.

Here's something from Aisehman at http://aisehman.org/ that's interesting:-
"AND do you know why the DPM is so concerned about the impact this private jet scandal could have politically?
It’s not just MCA politicians that have used Kuala Dimensi’s jets. Orang UMNO ada pakai jugak. Tak pecaya, pegi tanya Faisa, deputy CEO Kuala Dimensi.
Yang aku heran, angkut Tempe pun naik private jet jugak. Betul tak Faisal?
Mungkin korang dah lupa skandal PKFZ ni bukan saja melibatkan orang MCA.
Kot dah lupa, baca posting aku ni, yang di upload hampir dua tahun dulu. Masa tu, menteri besar Selangor seorang doktor gigi.
Faisal ni memang cukup rapat dengan doktor gigi ni. Kalau nak tahu lagi, Tiong pun rapat jugak dengan dia ni.
Masa kawan kita bertanding nak jadi Ketua Pemuda UMNO hari tu, Faisal dengan Tiong ni lah yang tak kenal penat lelah “membantu”."
I read elsewhere that Tiong claims he gave the 10$ million in 3 tranches i.e. that would be a total of 200,000 $50 notes. If it never made it to MCA's bank account, that's a lot of Samsonite briefcases!!

KUALA LUMPUR: There is no sign of the purported RM10mil “loaned” by Kuala Dimensi Sdn Bhd CEO Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing in the MCA coffers, treasurer-general Tan Sri Tee Hock Seng said.
“I do not see any donation from outsiders. There is no proof of the RM10mil donation,” he said. Tee said all donations to MCA must be accounted for.
Tee became the treasurer-general after the party election last October, taking over from Tan Sri Lau Yin Pin.
“The whole year’s budget for the party must go through the presidential council,” he said.
On the sources of the party’s income, Tee said it received revenue from the rental of Wisma MCA and Megan Avenue buildings.
“We have assets of RM2bil and do not need donations,” said Tee during a press conference after attending the special briefing chaired by president Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat at Wisma MCA yesterday.

MCA pays RM 1.28 bil for 42.4% of The Star
Friday, 05 November 2010 14:30
KUALA LUMPUR - The Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA) paid RM 1.28 billion to acquire 42.4 per cent of The Star to reorganise the party's investment activities, as well as to allow investment arm, Huaren Holdings Sdn Bhd, to diversify in seeking for other assets.
MCA announced in a press statement issued Thursday that it has purchased 313,315,760 shares of the paper’s publisher, Star Publications (Malaysia) Bhd, at RM4.09 a piece, from its wholly-owned subsidiary Huaren Holdings Sdn Bhd, based on the prevailing market value.
The statement also stated: "MCA’s beneficial interests in Star as aforesaid remain unchanged both before and after the transfer."
According to MCA, "the transfer is effected for the purpose of reorganizing MCA's investments, whereby Huaren Holdings Sdn Bhd will divest its passive investment in Star and increase focus on its investments in unquoted shares and other assets."
It further added the move was to achieve greater management efficiency and provide maximum return to the stakeholders.
"MCA's investments in Star will continue to be passive and long-term in nature."
MCA president Dr Chua Soi Lek had last year noted that The Star newspaper was the Chinese-based party's most valuable asset which was worth up to RM1 billion.
His son, Chua Tee Yong and MCA's former vice president, Dr Fong Chan Onn, were both appointed to assist managing the party's asset which was estimated to worth over RM2 billion.
MCA is the second largest party in the ruling federal coalition, Barisan Nasional (BN).
Media Prima Berhad and Utusan Melayu Bhd are the two other major media groups which are both owned by Umno, the senior party in BN.

MCA appoints Chua junior, ex-veep to monitor party’s billions
By Clara Chooi
May 25, 2010
KUALA LUMPUR, May 25 — MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek today confirmed the party had appointed his son, Chua Tee Yong and former vice-president Datuk Seri Dr Fong Chan Onn to assist in managing the party’s assets, estimated to be worth over RM2 billion.
Dr Chua said the decision had been endorsed by the party’s central committee after holding a five-hour meeting at Wisma MCA here.
“The CC today decided that the asset management of MCA should be administered in a more professional manner.
“That is why we believe that the party’s assets should be managed by a professional group separate from the MCA so there is separation of power. But at the same time, the management team is still accountable to the CC so they still have to report to us from time to time,” he told a press conference after the meeting.
Dr Chua noted that the party’s most valuable asset was The Star newspaper, which at its height, he said, was worth up to RM1 billion.
“We do not have an exact figure (on the worth of the party’s assets) — people will give you all sorts of figures — but we know our biggest is The Star.
“Since The Star is a listed company and follows the market value, it could be worth about RM800 million today and at its height, up to RM1 billion.
“Then, we also have Wisma MCA and other big investments,” he said.
He explained that today’s appointments were to ensure that the party’s assets would be managed professionally and that there would be no abuse.
